Background: Evangeline Society was formed in July 2002 at Satakha Town as its monitoring base. It is founded with an object of serving, helping and of providing psychological support to the identified group of IDUs/ODUs and communicates openly with the people about the Danger of Drug abuse and its consequences. There by to keep them aware of HIV/AIDS transmission through exchange of needles and unsafe sexual encounter among themselves and to other.
Aims: To reduce transmission of STI, HIV & AIDS through IDUs in Satakha area. Vision: - To stop further spread of HIV/AIDS in community. Mission: - To impart necessary services to both KPs i.e. IDUs and general population for preventing transmission of HIV/AIDS
Objective:
- To impart the knowledge about the spread of HIV/ AIDS to the villagers
- To prevent the spread of HIV transmission through IDUs in Satakha Area.
- To prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS through unsafe sexual encounter among IDUs and their partners.
