Background:
The word ‘Agape’ is derived from the Greek word meaning Gods Love. The Agape Youth Welfare Organisation is one of the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO)s in Wokha District, Nagaland. The Organisation is founded in 1993 and registered under Societies Registration Act. XXI of 1860 and as amended Vide Nagaland (First amendment Act 1969, under Government of Nagaland with a registration No. RS 2495, dated 08/06/94. it is a Voluntary non-profit and Welfare Organisation.

The Organisation is founded primarily for prevention and control social problems such as Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS, etc. Hence the Organisation had established Drug awareness and counselling Centre at Wokha Town in 1994, since first of its kind in Wokha District i.e. in Nagaland.

Objective:

• To educate the whole community to fight against all social evils and social problems for prevention through Mass Awareness Education.
• To create awareness and educating to people about the ill effect of Alcoholism, Drug Abuse, Abscess, and HIV/AIDS for individual, family and the Society at large.
• To  provide treatment rehabilitation and counselling services for the Drug Users and HIV/AIDS patients for care and Support.
• To encourage and provide opportunities to the unprivileged, un-employed youth to adopt self employment and income generation schemes by giving them Vocational and co-curricular activities.
• To educate both Rural and urban community by providing nutrition Health Care, Cultural activities and to promote for uplifting the Socio- Economic Status at the grass root level.
