Background:
The Educated and Self Employed Women’s Social Services Association (ESEWOSSA) was established by like minded unemployed young girls in the year 1988 and registered under Societies Registration Act-1886 in the same year. The association was upgraded as state level NGO in the year 2005. The association had started prevention activities of HIV/AIDS among Women from 1994 and among IDUs, FSWs and MSM since 2004 as partner of MACS and ORCHID.

Manipur is a land of various ethnic groups. Each ethnic group have their own cultural and tradition of life. Manipur is a tiny state of India and lies in the easternmost part. Besides being a tiny state, it is railing under great problem from various factors. The law and order situation of Manipur directly and indirectly affects the socio-economic and health condition to the people of Manipur.  With the increasing of crime, social and health problem and     establishment of women commission, enacted prevention of domestic violence against women’s, the  NGOs and VOs have vast areas of playing  a catalytic role in the implementation of various government schemes and laws.
The ESEWOSSA is non – profit making association which has been playing a major role in the implementation of various schemes and projects and committed for social cause of Manipur.

Objective:

• To preserve environment, wild lives and undertake animal welfare programmes.
• •To uplift social, health, education and economic status of the weaker section of the society by undertaking appropriate programs.
• To undertake HIV/AIDS prevention control programmes, De-addiction and rehabilitation programmes.
• To undertake research works on various social issues and other needy area.
• To promote self-employ among youths.
